Wirral Point is a new development in Birkenhead
town centre, standing on the site of the former St.
Laurences Church social club, situated at the Exmouth Street end of South Claughton Road.
Wirral Point has planning consent for Retail and Restaurant uses and extends to a total of 15,013 sq.ft. The visualisation above shows the location of Wirral Point.
Timescale
The development of the site commenced at the start of October 2007 with completion due for April, 7th 2008.
When completed the development will be very striking in appearance, high profile and highly visible, right in
the heart of Birkenhead.
Great Location
The site provides an excellent retail and/or restaurant location for a number of reasons:
- Birkenhead is a densly populated area with over
84,000 residents (National Statistics 2005 survey).
- Wirral Point is directly opposite the Oliver Street Car Parks which are highly active and service
Birkenhead Town Centre.
- It is a high visibility site adjacent to The Lauries Centre.
- It is facing the site of the new 95,000 sq.ft. ASDA store on which development will start in January
2008.
- There is significant visitor parking directly in front of the development and staff car parking to the side.
Specification
The Specification shall include:
- Curtain wall glazing to front elevation in clear glass to allow maximum visibility.
- Electrically operated bi-parting front entrance doors to the height of glazing Frame.
- Anti ram bollards, steel security doors with shoot bolt locking, gated entrances and service areas.
- Fair faced, even finish internal block work.
- Paint finished exposed steel work.
